RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 - Unpopular Opinions

Justin Singh

Half the queens from season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race have sashayed away. That means we’re only a few episodes away from the final 4 (finally). This season has definitely been a long rollercoaster of highs and lows, and is definitely a hot topic of debate and discussion amongst viewers. While there are many different thoughts on the queens, the judging and the outcomes, the final decision is always Mama Ru’s to make. But here are some of our controversial yet brave opinions:

  1. Most of the winning team didn’t actually win

There, I said it. I felt like Rosé, Denali and Utica were snubbed in their premiere episode lip syncs. After watching Porkchop queens perform however, I’m glad they all ended up together.

  1. Gottmik should’ve been in the bottom for the Disco-mentary challenge (Episode 3)

In this episode, Kandy Muse and Tamisha Iman found themselves in the bottom. Gottmik, however, performed worse than both of them. The bottom two that week was perfect for resolving the drama, however.

  1. Utica Queen should have won The Bag Ball

Gottmik’s looks were amazing! But Utica’s gown made of sleeping bags looks like it took weeks to make! On top of making that amazing dress, she also helped everyone else in the Werk Room with their outfits according to the other queens! She's even been noticed by Vogue, but unfortunately no win on the main stage for that look.

  1. Symone should’ve sashayed away

First of all, I love Symone. She’s beautiful, stylish, and hilarious! Her lip sync against Kandy Muse was not it though. I feel that Kandy delivered a more fun performance than Symone, and you could tell Symone was in her head while lip syncing. If not for the double save, I feel that Symone should’ve been the one to get the porkchop.

  1. Tina shouldn’t have placed low in the Rusical challenge

Usually, when a challenge occurs, you can get a feel for who is getting negative critiques and positive critiques based on the judges reactions and certain sound effects if you listen closely. That’s why it was a huge shock when Tina Burner was placed low in Social Media: The Unverified Rusical. She was one of the main roles and delivered it pretty well, and I was nervous that she would win (I was rooting for Rosé). I was shocked with her critiques and hope it doesn’t affect the rest of her track record.

Those are some of our opinions! What about yours? Share them with us and let us know who you’re rooting for to make it to the top 4!
