How To Reject a Guy Nicely
We all have been in the position or know someone who wants to break it off with a really nice guy. They are the epitome of nice and thoughtful but for some reason it is just not working out. You don’t want to believe that nice guys finish last… but in this case he is finished dead last. He’ll be an amazing husband someday but not yours and you are faced with the dilemma on how to nicely let him down.
Here are a few ways to nicely reject a guy.
Honesty is the best policy! Be straight up and tell him that things are just not working out and the chemistry is just not there. It may be difficult to tell him to his face but everyone deserves to know the truth.
Avoid Ghosting Him
DO NOT GHOST HIM! He’s a nice guy and he does not deserve that. You can ghosts random hookups from grindr but not this one. Ghosting someone may be the easy way out but it’s a really bad feeling for the person getting blown off.
Let’s Stay Friends?
Staying friends depends on the relationship you have with the person and if you really want to pursue one with them. He may not agree to staying friends especially after being dumped however perhaps you can stay good friends in the future. Just because an intimate relationship did not work out does not mean that a friendship would not work out. However, make it clear and set your boundaries. You do not want to give him false hope or mistake this statement as a second chance.
Make Yourself Look Bad
This may or may not be a lie. However, blaming yourself may sound cliche but it can definitely lighten the blow from getting dumped. You can blame yourself and say that you just don’t have a thing for nice guys and are oddly attracted to jerks and the bad guy trope. You may come off as a psycho but at least this might make him feel like he’s dodging a bullet.
